About Amos
Amos's clinical practice centers on individuals and couples, navigating transitions in identity, intimacy, and connection. He works systemically, attending to the relational patterns — past and present — that shape how clients and families understand themselves and move through the world. His approach draws on a range of contemporary and postmodern therapeutic models, integrating narrative and experiential frameworks depending on what best serves the people in front of him.
A significant focus of Amos's clinical work is sexuality, intimacy, and identity, particularly within queer and allied communities. In 2026, he earned a certificate from the Sex Therapy Program at The Institute for Contemporary Psychotherapy, deepening his clinical training in human sexuality and equipping him to address concerns around desire, intimacy, sexual identity, and relational dynamics with greater specificity. This training builds on his longstanding commitment to LGBTQ+-affirming therapeutic practice, informed by his years of involvement with The Institute for Human Identity.
Amos approaches the therapy room as a space of guided introspection — helping clients deconstruct constricting narratives while honoring the strengths and resilience they already carry.
A native New Yorker, Amos grew up in an artistic household in the Hudson Valley, where play was encouraged as a means of expression and exploration. From an early age the theatre was a space for him to channel his energy, hone his talents, and most importantly, feel embraced by a community of likeminded folks. He discovered yoga and meditation as a teenager to help balance the high-intensity training in the performing arts and has consistently returned to this practice throughout his life to maintain equilibrium. He is a trained Vinyasa yoga teacher and studied trauma-informed yoga training in 2018.
Amos lives in Nyack with his husband, their adoptive children, and dog HattieMae. For pleasure, Amos enjoys cooking, hiking in nature, and exploring all of the rich cultural variety New York City has to offer.
